10 years of Hotel Belvoir, 300 years of the Lusthaus: High above Lake Zurich on the moraine of the former Linth Glacier sits the Hotel Belvoir, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary in its current form. Even more considerable is the period of time that the Belvoir has under its belt as a former “Lusthaus” (event house for parties, theatre and balls). For exactly 300 years, guests have been inspired by this unique view, which has been a popular photo subject since 1721.

A place of encounters: Over the decades and centuries, the unique location has developed into a popular meeting place for well-known contemporaries. Great poets and pioneers such as Gottfried Keller, C. F. Meyer and Gottlieb Duttweiler left their mark on the traditional Belvoir house. Today, as in the past, the Hotel Belvoir is an important part of Rüschlikon. It always serves as a community hall for lively discussions, as a club room or as a meeting place for the craftsmen’s snack. And many a baptism or confirmation dinner took place here as well as countless weddings were heralded here. Such a legacy is only possible thanks to loyal guests and the local population, on whom the hotel can still count today.

Celebrate the rounds
For 300 days, we will be celebrating celebratory moments – true to the motto “instagrammable since 1721”: an oversized picture frame in the lobby has been set up as the perfect photo spot, stories about history and the faces behind history provide insights into the lives of the people who shaped this house, and unusual events for the population are planned. And of course, our chef Pascal Kleber has created a 300-year menu like in the old days.
