Since April 2023, we have been offering our house gin, “The Gin to B”. We not only use it to mix fine cocktails, but now also produce our own gin pralines in cooperation with the chocolate professional “Confiserie Sprüngli”.
The Gin to B
Teamwork to the secret recipe
For three months, the nine-member team of executives at the Orator family’s distillery in Pfungen developed “The Gin to B”. First, various recipes were composed in working groups, and in a second step, a favourite was chosen and further perfected. Six ingredients from over twenty ingredients made the race: quince, mint, lemongrass, angelica seeds, coriander and, of course, juniper berries. The exact recipe remains secret, of course. The distillery uses only organic or wild raw materials without additives and dispenses with the usual filtration so that the aromas come into their own even better.
About the gin
The high-quality spirit is playful and versatile, but still comes along with a certain down-to-earthness. In addition to the classic gin and tonic, Hotel Belvoir serves four other gin cocktail classics such as the Dry Martini or Gin Fizz. The house gin is now available in the Belbar, the Infinity Lounge, on the sun terrace as well as in the Lobby Lounge and the Belvoir Restaurant & Grill. Finding a name also played an important and major role in the creation process. From some funny and creative ideas such as “Belgino” to “Al Pagino”, there were a few suggestions. In the end, they agreed on “The Gin to B”.

Gin Chocolates
A delicious novelty from our in-house gin: our gin pralines
Since autumn 2023, we have been offering our guests gin chocolates as a gift in the rooms and as a friandise after dinner for the first time. These new pralines are very special: not only because they were specially developed and produced with us by the chocolate professionals “Confiserie Sprüngli”, but also because they are filled with our “The Gin to B”. They are available in three tempting variants: with light, dark or milk chocolate. The addition of quince gives the chocolates, as well as our gin, a unique note and ensures an unmistakable taste. On the palate, the speciality provides special pleasure and sweetens our guests’ stay.
